Lower Carroll Mill

Lower Carroll Mill

Only one-fifth mile in length, the trail to the Lower Carroll Mill takes you a long way back in time. Using local wood pulp, the mill made newsprint and manila paper for the New York City market. The mill produced its last wagonload of paper in 1887. Today, the lonely ruins can only hint at the industrious energy of our forebears.
