The Kent Land Trust is a local community land trust based in the foothills of northwest Connecticut, along the Appalachian Trail and the Housatonic River, and within a landscape of wildlife corridors, green valleys and watersheds supporting diverse species.
Established in 1989, our mission is to preserve natural resources in Kent and surroundings through land protection, stewardship, and public outreach, education and research. KLT is volunteer-led with 17 directors, 6 advisors, 23 non-board committee members, and 75+ volunteers. In addition, KLT employs a part-time Executive Director, Land Manager, Program Manager and Office Manager, who work with stewardship consultants.
