Lenox, MA–FREE Paddling Trip on the Housatonic River with the Housatonic Valley Association

Join HVA for a Beginner’s Paddle on a stretch of the river in Lenox; and gain confidence while enjoying paddling a stretch of the Housatonic River. This is your chance to learn how to safely enter and exit a canoe, learn the basic strokes and steer and paddle safely. Led by HVS volunteer, Charles Murray an experienced canoeist and ACA certified instructor.

Suitable for families with children 10+yrs. Canoes provided or register to bring your own boat.

This free paddle trip is in partnership with the Housatonic Heritage Area.

Explore the beauty of the Housatonic River on this free paddle trip offered by the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA). The paddle trip is a great chance for area residents to learn where to access the river, understand some of the current issues and appreciate the river as a natural resource. Register to use one of HVA’s canoes or bring your own boat.

While this trip is free, pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Once registered, participants will receive trip information that will provide detailed information about what to bring, directions and meeting location.
