Winner of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for a career going back to the Greenwich Village folk revival of the early 1960s, when, as a pioneer singer-songwriter, he moved the genre beyond its traditions, Tom Paxton returns to the Guthrie Center, joined by songwriters Don Henry and Jon Vezner, the DonJuans. Paxton’s songs have been interpreted by the greats, from Bob Dylan, to Willie Nelson, to Placido Domingo, to Judy Collins. “Tom Paxton’s songs are so powerful and lyrical, written from the heart and conscience, and they reach their mark, our most inner being.” Don Henry and John Vezner are not just Grammy-winning songwriters themselves, but vocalists and multi-instrumentalists who will further deepen and enrich these two exceptional evenings.” Judy Collins
