The concert will feature motets by composers of the European Renaissance and Early Baroque. Twenty singers of Crescendo’s Vocal Ensemble will be joined by solo soprano Jennifer Tyo, Christa Patton (Renaissance harp), and Hideki Yamaya (Renaissance lute). Crescendo’s founder and artistic director, Christine Gevert, will direct from the organ.
This concert is one of four programs Crescendo will present this summer and early fall. These include an August 13 chamber music concert, and a September 3 choral concert with organ featuring well-known music by Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn, Vivaldi, Stainer, and Tallis. On October 29 and 30, Crescendo will present the choral/instrumental concert “Music Across Borders,” which was postponed from March 2020.
Tickets for the July 23 concert ($35 general, $60 premium, $10 under 18) can be purchased online or at the door.
All performers, staff members, and volunteers are fully vaccinated, and all state and federal guidelines for COVID prevention will be followed. Unvaccinated audience members must wear a mask at all times.
